Ovarian cancer ranks 5th in cancer deaths among women. Tens of thousands of women in the U.S. died of ovarian cancer every year. Ovarian cancer is a growth of malignant cells that begins in the ovaries. It can then spread to other organs usually in the pelvis and abdomen, or even through the blood stream or lymph nodes to other parts of the body.
